This can be quite a touchy subject for some, users are usually loyal to one brand or another, what it really comes down to is YOU.

Only you know what you are going to need a computer for, and from that, decide what system would best suite your needs.

I personally prefer Apple’s offering as i find the operating system much more stable and secure then a Windows PC, and alot friendlier then Linux

That being said however, windows PC’s can be cheaper to buy initially but then you have constant antivirus and anti spyware updates, the seemingly never ending security updates, all these things to keep you safe from the internet ‘nastys’

Im not going to waste your time with arguments over what system is better - there is defiantly more software available for Windows PC’s, and for the latest games , well, they are starting to be released on the Mac systems but its usually a wait.

There is however several options for the new Intel based Macs, 1 such option is an Apple program called ‘Bootcamp’ This little gem allows you to (providing you have an original Windows XP disk) fully install windows XP on your new Mac, to access it is just a matter of rebooting your computer.

You will then have full speed access to anything windows, all your programs and most games (depending on hardware) will run quite happily, want to get back to Mac OS X? just reboot again.

Another option is called ‘Parallels Desktop’ A great program that allows you install several different operating systems on your Intel powered Mac and run them while still in Mac OS X.

Feel free to check out the links on the right hand side for more information, or just email me, id be happy to help.

Now before you say - wow he’s really biased towards apple let me say this:

well.. Yes i guess I am, I do love these things, but it must be said that PC’s can be more flexible (from a system builders viewpoint anyway).

I can get thousands of different video cards, motherboards, RAID controllers, cases etc for PC’s and build something to really suite the end user and with a cost Vs performance I can built some nifty systems for under $2000
